On November 23rd my piece for silent film “The Wind” was premiered by the Dallas Chamber Orchestra in the wonderful acoustics of the Moody Performance Hall.
This was 75 music to accompany the classic silent film, commissioned by the Dallas Chamber Orchestra led by Richard McKay.
This performance was a real highlight of my musical career. From the first rehearsal to the dress rehearsal, everything came together superbly with a group of top-notch musicians and expert direction from Maestro McKay. I got to meet with the audience after the concert and hear their reactions to the music as well.
Dallas was also a wonderful city to visit, warm and inviting with lots of good food, so that a real bonus!
A big thank you to Richard McKay and all who made this happen. I had written a piece for them before for a short silent film called “Ask Father” and it was a real honour to be asked by for a second turn at the plate. I couldn’t have asked for a more positive experience.
